Meet the Coach

Kristen Zdanowicz teaches math at Manasquan High School, where she coached Winter and Spring Track for over 20 years. She graduated from Rutgers University with a major in Mathematics and was a member and captain of the Rutgers Gymnastics Team. Kristen’s love for the sport continued into her professional life. She served as the Head Gymnastics Coach at Shore Regional High School for over 20 years until 2023. Kristen is excited for her new adventure as the Head Gymnastics Coach at Red Bank Regional, where she can use her gymnastics knowledge and positive attitude to help start this new program. She is looking forward to a fun and successful season!

Meet the gymnasts

Kendall Battel is a senior who is a retired gymnast and trained at Head Over Heels as a part of the excel platinum team until this season. She was competitive and resilient for multiple years who loved vault and floor. She loves to stay active and work out, spend time at the beach and be with friends and family. As the manager, she runs social media for the team as she always wants a piece of gymnastics with her. She can’t wait to finish off high-school with this amazing new group of gymnasts and see what it brings.

Kalista Barrett is a freshman who currently trains at Aerials Gymnastics as part of the JOGA 2 team. She is also a proud member of the Studio Art Academy at RBR HS. Kalista’s favorite events are vault (2x state champ) and bars (1x state champ). Kalista also loves being with her friends, family and her 3 dogs, as well as traveling! Go Bucs!

Nora is the type of person who inspires others, and has the kindest heart. She is also an excellent student who loves gymnastics and track. Lastly, Nora loves spending time with her family and friends.

Hi, my name is Julia McCormack. I am a senior, and have done gymnastics for 12 years. I am also apart of the Track team at RBR. I am excited to be apart of the first RBR Gymnastics team!

Leilani Mendoza is a freshman, currently on the Xcel Platinum team at Spartan Gymnastics. Her favorite events are bars and floor, and she can’t wait to represent RBR on the first gymnastics team!

Molly Costello is a freshman starting at Red Bank Regional this year in the Media Production Academy. Molly has been doing gymnastics since she was six on the Excel program at Head Over Heels. Her favorite event is floor. She was a 2024 all-around state champion for her age level. Molly loves running, hanging out with her friends, going to the beach and to concerts. At home, she loves to spend time with her two dogs and her cat. She is so excited to represent Red Bank this year.
